Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with ancient ancestry. Based on the old Chinese domino game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the west in a wonderful game for starting gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the casino, unlike nearly all other poker games that players compete against other players. By gambling against the dealer, new players do not need to worry about any other, more skillful gamblers taking their money.

A further Pai Gow edge is the fairly slow game play, novices should be able to take their time and strategize without having to make frenzied selections.

It’s also much simpler to participate in for a long time with only a tiny bit of money after all, to lose, both of your hands needs to be lower than both of the casino’s hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The gambler is given 7 cards faces showing and the dealer receives 7 cards faces hidden.

One five card hand and a 2 card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the five card hand has to be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the dealer’s.
