Net Big Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?

April 20th, 2019 by Alexa Leave a reply »

Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to make it to the last game in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus won a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best gamblers anywhere in the world. While competing in net poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. He frequently competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus usually buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I believe Hansen is an amazing poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has no reason to sit at the table with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be one of the greatest poker players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amt.. I believe television can alter our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players in the world could be guys you have never heard of. Gus can be seen gambling on web poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in high stakes omaha hi-low and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in money rounds?
