Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve final poker table in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a large pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest enthusiasts around the world. While participating in net poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently plays in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen generally buys in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all-in. I believe Hansen is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be 1 of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amount. I believe television can skew our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might be players you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found wagering on net poker on Full Tilt. He normally plays in big stakes Omaha and hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in cash rounds?
