Poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous types on the first poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to twenty-one than traditional poker, in that the gamblers bet against the house rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the dealer saying "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the casino and of course all of the different gamblers are given 5 cards each. After you have looked at your hand and the casino’s first card, you have to in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call bet’s amount is on same level to your original wager, which means that the risks will have doubled. Giving Up means that your ante goes instantaneously to the casino. After the wager comes the face off. If the bank does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, plus a sum on par with the original wager. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The casino pays money equal to your wager and controlled odds on your call wager. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- two to one for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a four of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
